Bamboo Create Tablet Sleeve: the pattern
As part of gearing up for this mad adventure disseminating skills for clothes hacking to the world, I bought a Wacom Create tablet. I’m carrying it back and forth to Metrix in my backpack, and it’s getting scratched. Not badly so far, but I want to keep it that way! I found an old laptop sleeve I made for my MacBook Air a while ago from a felted down sweater, but it’s not the right size:
I want to make something similar, but with less bulky seams. I’m thinking quilting cotton for the outside fabric, and fleece for the inside, and not seaming the way I did the bag.
Last night at Hack Your Clothes Night I measured the tablet:
Came up with a concept sketch:
Made a pattern. You can see some of the guidelines I drew while drafting at various dimensions from the sketch before adding in the angled cuts to make it not square:
Then it was time to leave Metrix for the Cloud Cult concert, which was awesome! Here is there set from earlier in the day live at KEXP:
Today I’ll cut it out and sew it up! Then I just need to find velcro; I think I have some in stash.
