My Goldilocks Loom
I just bought home a Macomber loom: serial # B5-4194.
It was a crazy good deal. I can’t believe how good of a deal: $150 for a 40″ 10 shaft/ 16 treadle with a plain and a sectional warp beam.
It’s covered in dust and some parts are a bit corroded. It needs a good cleaning and lubing, but everything seems to be in essentially perfect condition. The sectional wasn’t mounted and I’m not sure I have a brake assembly for it. I need more treadle tie-up wires. Otherwise it’s ready to go.
And so many reeds and lease sticks and shuttles and temples and bobbins and heddles and books and a double ended bobbin winder and a bench and a surprise inkle loom because why not?
So tomorrow is clean, lube, reassemble, and maybe I’ll get a warp on it.
I’m kind of in shock. I only saw pictures of the loom, without the sectional beam. I was delighted to purchase it as soon as I arrived and saw it. And then they started bringing out all the extra bits.
