First Draft
Here’s the improved draft for the towels I just finished. I promised it back when I started the project, and now that it’s ended I finally have put it together. If anyone wants a .wif I uploaded it to the files section.
First Towels
Four twill towels and some plainweave yardage I think will be cut into washcloths. Haven’t decided. There are threads that were skipped, treadling errors, and selvedge issues. I am choosing not to care. They are squishy and soft and beautifully textured. I made cloth. After a spot of loom repair yesterday I started threading a

Weaving is becoming my relaxed happy place. I wish looms were portable. I need to restore my knitting mojo.
Learning to Weave
Here’s the latest few repeats of the project I posted last week. Floating selvedges and improved beating and throwing has fixed the edges. I’m slowly getting the movement patterns fixed and beginning to pick up speed. The last white repeat is essentially square, with an even length on the warp and weft threads. Thanks to

Trying to figure out how to manage the selvedges. I suspect in the end this may involve a rolled hem. Temple weights didn’t work terribly well. These floating selvedges are helping, but still working on getting proper tension, avoiding edge loops and draw-in. Starting to stabilize.
